Cleburne Head Softball Coach Troy Culwell will hold a Lady Jacket softball camp June 14-16 for incoming third through ninth graders. Cleburne High School is holding summer camps for all sports beginning Tuesday and running through the end of June.

Cleburne High School coaches are hosting summer sports camps over the next five weeks, beginning Tuesday with football, track and volleyball camps.

Throughout the month of June, Cleburne High School coaching staffs will be holding summer camps for all other sports, including baseball, softball, girls and boys basketball, tennis and soccer.

Camp registration forms for all sports are available online at www.c-isd.com. Payment and contact information are available on each sport’s registration form.

Cleburne Head Boys Basketball Coach Jeff Bush said he is excited to work with the future of Yellow Jacket hoops on June 13-16.

“I look forward to our summer camp every year,” Bush said. “I enjoy getting to work with the younger group of kids and get them exposed to the fundamentals of the game at an early age. For the older age group, we’ll work on more specific areas of the game. We’ll have some fun competition and games as well. This camp is a great way to start building a rapport with the student-athletes that will be representing the black and gold in the future.”

Cleburne Head Girls Basketball Coach Rosalind Lawrence said summer sports camps are a great way for coaches to start building relationships with future Jackets.

“Our Lady Jacket basketball summer camp is a great way for future Lady Jackets to get their first experience working with these coaches,” Lawrence said. “It’s one of the first opportunities we get to meet some of these younger students and gives us an idea of what we have coming in the future. It’s a great introduction to the sport for the younger age groups, where we teach the basic fundamentals. Most importantly, we will have a lot of fun.”

Involved in the $75 cost of Lady Jacket basketball camp is a camp basketball for students to take home.

“I added basketballs to my camps so that at least every kid that attends our camp has a ball at home,” Lawrence said. “Not everyone has three or four basketballs and access to a basketball goal at home. We want our campers to have their own basketball to work on fundamentals like dribbling at home.”

The Cleburne football camp begins Tuesday and Coach James Woodard, who was just named head coach of Yellow Jacket football on Monday, will be helping lead the camp. It will be a great opportunity for future Jackets to meet their new head football coach.

Students participating in each camp will need to bring a water bottle and the appropriate attire for each respective sport, such as basketball/tennis shoes for basketball and volleyball camp, gloves for baseball and softball camp, and so on.
